Transitional Summer Staples
Updated: Apr 16, 2020
A wrap dress, for me, is a summer staple. In a gorgeous fabric, they can be incredibly breathable, and they can adapt to your body as you change - since you can tighten them as much or as little as you want. Because of the cut, they are incredibly flattering : they cinch in and then flow away from the body.
To transition my linen wrap dress into fall, I added my Moto jacket for some extra warmth. I love wearing mainly warm neutrals and then throwing in a pop of black. As the weather gets colder, I tend to gravitate towards darker colours and this jacket will be a recurring item in future outfit posts.
These nude slides are also a great transitional item since they are closed-toe. They were a little hard to find since most slides are beach-ready but I’m really glad I was able to find a simple nude pair that quickly became my most-worn shoe this summer.
When looking for transitional items, be sure to look out for pieces that are in a colour that works in every season (ie. mustard yellow, olive green, beiges, peachy pink) and cuts that layer well or that can function for several weather scenarios (ie. closed-toe shoes, light knits, sheer blouses, etc…). Let me know what your transitional pieces are! Would you like a post that goes more into detail on what to look for when shopping for transitional weather?
