Top Thrifted Fashion Finds 2018
Updated: Apr 16, 2020
I thought it would be fun to do a roundup of my 5 favourite thrifted finds from this past year. Most of these items have been posted on the blog and on my Insta pretty often - so there are really no surprises!
1. Loose Trench
I was searching for a loose, unstructured trench coat for such a long time. I finally found it this year and I'm so happy. It’s the perfect length, and the khaki green colour is a great neutral to break up my mostly black wardrobe.
2. Leather booties
These boots are awesome: they’re simple, go with everything and are probably my most-worn shoe from this fall. When I found them, I’m pretty sure the thrift store didn’t realize that they were such high quality boots from an expensive brand and they were only price at $7.99 - I’m so glad I was able to snag them!
3. Fisherman Sweater
This sweater is super comfy and cozy! I love that it’s an olive green and that the texture is in between a cable knit and a normal knit. It’s just a little bit more unique. I think this piece was handmade because there are no tags on the inside which makes it a little bit more special to me.
4. Belt with gold buckle
This is a more trendy piece that I was lusting after. I saw belts similar to this at aritzia -ones that are black with gold hardware and I thought it would make a great addition to my wardrobe for high waisted jeans and to cinch in the waist in dresses. I found this belt for $3.99, it was a little beat-up but I thought it was still worth it.
5. Levis Skinnies
My Levis were a lovely new-with-tags find at a local thrift store. They were a little pricey at $20, but I figured I would make the splurge because if I saw it in a retail store, I would consider it a good price. They fit perfect, have a great amount of stretch and I wear them 3-5 times a week. At this point they're almost totally worn out (the back pockets are ripping!). I always wear my mid-coloured skinnies until they are unwearable so I know these were an awesome addition to my closet - sadly they might need to go soon.
What were your top thrifted finds this year?! Are you planning to thrift lots in 2019? Since I'm doing my no-buy, I haven't been to a thrift store but that's the first place I'll go when I need any replacement items this year.
