Autumnal looks I can’t wait to re-wear
Updated: Apr 16, 2020
It feels like fall and I’m super excited to pull out my sweaters and scarves and to cozy up once again! While I love the heat of summer, I really think my style thrives in the fall - I just feel very comfortable in my clothes and styling for cold-weather looks.
Wool trousers are something I’m really looking forward to wearing again! These ones from Aritzia are really soft and warm and it essentially feels like I’m wearing my pyjamas.
In trousers I look for high waisted styles that have a slightly cropped length length (because I’m short and I like when my boots show a little from under my pants). I try to go for either a straight fit or a slightly tapered “cigarette” cut for the legs of the trouser.
Wool Mini Skirt
I bought this skirt last fall and honestly, wasn’t able to wear it enough because it was a cold winter! But this is the perfect mini for me. It’s not too short and it’s a great a-line cut. High waisted, pockets and a lovely grey wool are some of the other qualities that I love about this skirt. Also originally from Aritzia - which is a shop that I find really works for my petite frame and it carries a lot of cuts and styles that I really love. The clothes I get from Aritzia always seem like the things that last the longest in my wardrobe in terms of quality and style.
I loved how this outfit turned out last year. One comfy sweater layered under another and topped off with a wool scarf. I think what makes it work is the fact that all the coziness is composed of different coloured knits, so it breaks things up a bit. I also balanced out the oversized volume on top with skinnies and an elongating almond-toe bootie. I think I’ll fully re-wear this entire outfit again this autumn, but I might also adapt it and continue to layer knits to create such a comfy, warm look!
This outfit was probably my all-time favourite that went up on the blog last year. The sweater is a perfect thrift find in the most gorgeous brown tone. I really had lot’s of fun with layering necklaces on top of turtleneck sweaters last year and I’m definitely going to continue that this year. But the star of the show? My Everyone cheeky’s that I always rave about. I think they look great with booties and really casual-down this outfit.
What are you excited to re-wear this year? Do you just think of particular pieces or entire outfits? I hope your September is off to a good start and I can’t wait for all the autumnal vibes: apple pie and crisp leaves that are coming soon.
